Rooibos

Also called Red Bush Tea, Rooibos is a caffeine-free South African shrub.  All Rooibos, red and green, comes from the same bush.  Green Rooibos is unfermented, red Rooibos has been fermented.  Don't be fooled by cheap red bush tisanes found on grocery store shelves.

Health studies conducted in South Africa and Japan have shown Rooibos to aid with insomnia, nervous tension, headaches, and hyper-tension.  Rooibos contains anti-spasmodic agents which may relieve stomach cramping and colic in infants.  Rooibos contains anti-oxidants which can help slow the aging process and boost the immune system.  Rooibos contains the following minerals: copper, iron, potassium, calcium, flouride, zinc, manganese, alpha-hydroxy (for healthy skin), and magnesium (for the nervous system).  

In South Africa Rooibos has been used to treat hay fever, allergies and eczema very effectively.  It is also brewed and placed directly on affected areas to treat irritated skin.

Green Rooibos - Organic green rooibos from South Africa.

Red Rooibos - Fermented leaves of the legendary full flavoured, caffeine-free healthful herb native to South Africa.  Ingredients: Rooibos. (Organic)

African Sunset Rooibos - A robust spicy (not hot) blend that brings to mind the romance of the evening in the Kalahari. Ingredients: Rooibos, orange, cinnamon, safflower petals, calendula petals, Assam black tea.

Blueberry Rooibos - Authentic blueberry flavour provided by actual dried blueberries blended in with the rooibos. Ingedients: Rooibos, blueberries, cornflower blossoms.

Cappuccino Cream - A rich creamy cup, sure to satisfy! Ingredients: Rooibos, caramel pieces, flavouring, marigold petals.

Chocolat' Rooibos - Absolutely delicious, this blend of chocolate and spice is so popular it is hard to keep up with the demand! It is a blend of cocoa bean, spices and pepper that brews romance in a cup. Ingredients: Rooibos, cocoa bean pieces, ginger bits, cinnamon, roasted chicory root, barley malt, cardamom, and black pepper.

Chocolate Mint Rooibos - Rooibos with a sweet tooth.  Ingredients: Rooibos, peppermint, calendula petals, cacao bean and natural flavours. Wickedly good for you.

Cream Caramel Rooibos - Smooth and creamy.  Ingredients: Rooibos, caramel bits, safflower blossoms, natural flavouring. Oh my, my...

CreativiTea - Rooibos, spices, and a little peppery bite. Ingredients: Rooibos, lemongrass, apple bits, lemon peel, ginger pieces, orange peel, basil, red pepper, cardamom, rosemary.

Earl Grey Rooibos - Lord Grey travels to Africa. Rooibos with bergamot added to create a subtle, creamy blend. No better way to start your day! Ingredients: Rooibos, bergamot, mallow root flowers.

Earl Grey Vanilla Rooibos - Organic rooibos with the same fragrant bergamot as regular Earl Grey, but with the addition of rich vanilla to round out the profile. People are buy this one by the pound!

Freedom Tea - Another Aromatica Original blend! Green rooibos, red rooibos, lemon myrtle, lemon verbena, and lemongrass, with just a hint of vanilla.. Intense lemon taste in a caffeine free, high antioxidant base. What could be better? Only one thing: proceeds from this tea are donated to International Justice Mission Canada to fight human trafficking internationally.

Hearthside Rooibos - A much anticipated Christmas blend that we only bring out for the Season. People begin asking for this "new tradition" in October. It is now in and on the shelves! Contains: Rooibos, candied papaya, pineapple pieces, apple bits, orange peel, cinnamon and rosebuds.

Lemon Rooibos - See Freedom Tea (our own lemon rooibos blend) above. It is a vibrant and intense lemon rooibos with just a hint of vanilla.

Oasis Green Rooibos - A different take on a great drink. Green rooibos has a lighter, sweeter taste than its oxidized red cousin. Yields a light, refreshing cup. Ingredients: Green rooibos, cactus blossoms, cornflower blossoms.

Orange Rooibos - The bite of Rooibos married to the zest of natural orange. A match made in heaven. Ingredients: Rooibos, orange peel, lemongrass, cornflower blossoms.

Powerhouse - Aromatica's original blend of organic green rooibos and lemon myrtle. Combine these two powerhouse healthy herbs in a refreshing lemony delight.
